In grandma’s day, she sent for old Dr. Garrett who made a house call in Hartsville if she was sick. That attention and personal care worked like medicine on her soul. Dr. Garrett may be gone, but that spirit of care and attention is alive and well at a locally owned shop that combines a small town drug store with a big-city shopping experience.
Locally-roasted coffees, baked confections from a Le Cordon Bleu-trained pastry chef, sophisticated sandwiches, and a comfy place to relax with friends are just some of what is brewing now that four families have partnered to open Goose Creek Coffee in Historic Downtown Hartsville, Tennessee. The successful venture has been a blessing for the owners and a perfect leisure time destination for locals and tourists.
We didn’t know where to begin when asked to tell our story. After decades in business, my sister, Pam and I have so many memories. We’ve had lots of laughter and fun with old friends and the many visitors who drive long distances to visit us. We were just kids when we managed to turn a tiff about our naked concrete statues into a viral sensation overnight. We loved every minute of it. We’re growing and thriving at G & L Garden Center for the next generation, and we hope you’ll come shop in our charming town. Here’s our Story from the Hart!
He’s likely the youngest entrepreneur in the country and he can be found in Hartsville, Tennessee, greeting customers between nap times. Our son, Kameron, “runs” the store at Kam’s Pet Supplies on the historic Hartsville Square and as he grows and thrives, so does our business. Here’s our Story from the Hart!
Nothing brings people together like good food, and when you add music to the meal, you have a winning combination. Chef and Musician John Copley brought his taste for creating delicious food and his ear for musical talent to Hartsville because he was looking for an unspoiled, small-town to raise his family. The atmosphere he’s created at his two popular restaurants has made “date night’ all the rage once again and you don’t have to venture outside the city limits. Here’s John’s Story from the Hart:

The time has come for you to renew your Hartsville-Trousdale Chamber of Commerce and Tourism membership. Yes, we’re adding “tourism” back to our name. Our founder, Mrs. Eleanor Ford, knew the value of drawing customers from surrounding areas to shop, dine, and enjoy the beautiful Cumberland River that runs through our unique city. We’re joining forces with the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development to help us prepare for our guests.
As our community grows and changes for the better, we at the Hartsville Trousdale Chamber of Commerce & Tourism have developed a new website. Designed by chamber members Bear Web Design, we want this website to be your source of news and information about business and leisure in our historic and charming community.
The scenic Cumberland River is the heart of our town, where you can enjoy tranquility or activity at your leisure. Spend a lazy day fishing or take a sunset cruise to relax. Bring your boat, jet skis, kayak, or paddleboard to Taylor’s Landing and spend a day on the water with the family. Practice your game at one of several golf courses just down the road, get your steps in on the walking track, or play Pickle Ball while the kids chill out at the pool or play in the fresh air at the park.
