She’s ducked rifle fire, lived in an Israeli colony, and moved into a Russian village to get essential interviews. She’s interviewed subjects as volatile as Shimon Peres and Newt Gingrich and as gentile and loveable as Lena Horne and Dolly Parton.

Terri Merryman’s multitasking career has included news anchor, producer, talk show host, and reporter roles. She’s also served behind the scenes as an associate producer for the top-rated “Survivor Reunion” reality show. She anchored via satellite from Israel and Russia and was profiled in trade journals for the live coverage that put her in harm’s way during the Miami riots and the Philadelphia ‘Move’ confrontation.

Terri’s work in Los Angeles for both KCAL-TV and “Survivor,” placed her in the middle of the
Hollywood action at Paramount Studios and the famed CBS Television City Studios. It was the best of all worlds for this movie and entertainment buff who coached young Reese Witherspoon when she began her Academy Award-winning acting career. Terri was given all access to some of country music’s biggest stars and their spouses as host of “Soulmates,” a popular entertainment show featured on The Nashville Network.

Her television news career of has spanned over three decades, taking her from coast to coast. Still, she couldn’t wait to return home to Tennessee and explore yet another side of the communications industry that awaited. Since leaving television news, Terri has served as Director of the Wilson County Convention and Visitors Bureau and on the Wilson County Chamber of Commerce board. She has also held various public relations and marketing positions for non-profits and has produced web content and videos to promote business and industry in the area. Since June 2024, Terri has put her skills to work in her new role to urge consumers nationwide to “Get to the Hart” and make Hartsville their leisure time town.

Terri and her husband and former co-anchor, WSMV-TV anchorman Alan Frio, spend their free time running their horse farm on the Cumberland River near the Providence Community.
